Eminent Gastroenterologist 

Prof. Hasnain is the twice unanimously elected former President of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council. He is the former Trustee, Agha Khan University (AKU) Board of Trustees. Twice elected Ex-Member-at-Large of Management Committee, International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA). He is the Former Principal and Chief Executive of Allama Iqbal Medical College and Jinnah Hospital Lahore.

He remained elected council member of College of Physician & Surgeons Pakistan for fourteen years since 1992. Rendered his services to the college as Chief Controller of Examination and Chief Convener of FCPS Examination in the subject of Medicine. He is on the panel of International Examiners. Thrice elected as Vice-President of C.P.S.P. A large number of fellows in Medicine and Gastroenterology have been his trainee.

He has been the foremost Chairman Affiliation & Accreditation Committee, Chairman Board of Studies and Member Syndicate, University of Health Sciences, Punjab.

He is a fellow of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, Fellow of Royal Colleges of Edinburgh & Glasgow, American College of Physicians, American College of Gastroenterology and honorary fellow of College of Physicians & Surgeons Bangladesh. He has been President of Pakistan Society of Gastroenterology and pioneer Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Journal of Gastroenterology. Prof. Hasnain is the founder President and subsequently the Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Society of Hepatology.

In recognition to his meritorious services, he was decorated with ”Pride of Performance” by the President of Pakistan. He is recipient of “Best University Teacher Award” by the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan and has got more than 50 publications to his credits. Prof. Hasnain has also been a “Designate Good Will Ambassador” and “Honorary Citizen of Houston” in recognition of his outstanding successes in his vocation and valuable contributions toward medical education.
